Gosling and Duran launch Five Star Camps

8.41am 28th May 2009 - People

David Gosling, founder and author of the much acclaimed junior coaching scheme Young Masters Golf is to return to junior golf coaching in partnership with Rudy Duran who was “Tiger Woods” first coach.

Together they will launch an “International “series of junior golf camps, dedicated to providing the highest level of coaching for young golfers. This concept is the brainchild of two of the games most passionate and committed coaches of young golfers.

The camps will offer the opportunity for young golfers and their parents to come together for a period of accelerated learning and intensive training. The camps will appeal to young golfers with high ambitions and exceptional drive. They will also provide them with a route map for the future as well as access to ongoing support and mentoring from top coaches.

At Five Star Camps the coaches’ key objective is to bolster confidence and create consistency in their pupils, two ingredients necessary for a lower scoring. Pupils at every Five Star Golf Camp will see improvement in all facets of their game – full swing, putting, short game and course management.

It‘s not just about golf. It‘s about perseverance, lasting friendships and personal pride.
The desire to improve exists in all golfers regardless of age or aptitude for the game. A week at a Five Star Golf Camp will help each individual improve and reach their golf potential by developing natural talents indeed it is the belief of both Dave and Rudy that “in every kid their lurks a Tiger.” They both believe "a kid that dreams of being the best they can be and will work hard to make that dream come true.”

Five Star Camp coaches will reaffirm the belief that every pupil has massive potential and it is the skill of the teacher to help the youngsters realise they can achieve great things.  At the Five Star Golf Camp the coaches will provide a framework where the child can learn to develop their potential.

The philosophy that runs through the camps and through the programmes is expansive but suffice to say that the pupil is at the centre and the premise is that the game of golf is simple, the instruction given in a fun and friendly manner and the parent completes the third side of the success triangle.

For Gosling it will be a welcome return to the forefront of junior coaching.   As he explains, “Just before my departure from YMG, I was lucky enough to meet Rudy. We instantly had a lot of respect for each other as coaches and for what we had achieved. We wanted to work together and have spent the last 18 months in constant contact developing this programme.

“These camps are an exciting departure from normal junior coaching because it is Rudy‘s understanding that the parent is really the full time coach.   At the Camps Rudy‘s experience helping the Wood‘s family to provide an environment where Tiger could develop will be shared with Five Star Camp parents and their children.”
