Golf fans will be able to get closer to the action than ever before at the 2014 Junior Ryder Cup with the launch of its new online platforms, including new Twitter and Facebook pages and a revamped website at europeantour.com
The Junior Ryder Cup will take place at Blairgowrie Golf Club in Scotland from September 22-23, providing the prelude to the main event at Gleneagles Hotel from September 25-28.
For the first time, fans of the junior event will be able to keep up to date with all the behind-the-scenes action during tournament week through its own social media platforms, while all the news and announcements in the build-up to the event will be covered.
Members of the European and USA teams will also be able to interact through Twitter and Facebook, bringing a much more personal experience to the Junior Ryder Cup, which celebrates the efforts of people at the grassroots level of the sport and the strong relationships within the golf family around the world.

Former Junior Ryder Cup players who have gone on to play in The Ryder Cup include Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Hunter Mahan, while Suzann Pettersen, Carlota Ciganda and Lexi Thompson are among the players to have taken their Junior Ryder Cup experience to the female equivalent, the Solheim Cup.
Held biennially, the Junior Ryder Cup mirrors the format of The Ryder Cup, with Europe taking on USA in a team event, only with both teams consisting of players under the age of 18.
The event is an international showcase of golf’s next generation, designed to continue to build international friendships between top junior golfers in the United States and Europe.
