Ransomes Jacobsen, the Ipswich-based manufacturer and distributor of professional groundscare maintenance equipment, has launched a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) scheme to help golf clubs, contractors and local authorities in this period of financial uncertainty.
Using a dedicated website www.ransomestrader.com all CPO machines are listed with their relevant purchase price. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis and every machine is no more than five years old.
Jason King, Customer Care Director at Ransomes Jacobsen said, “We appreciate that in the current economic climate it is not always possible for our customers to purchase new equipment. Therefore we have introduced the Certified Pre-Owned initiative to help them over this hurdle, offering quality machines that have been factory refurbished and available with a one year manufacturer warranty.
“I think customers will be surprised when they see the machines; we look at them not as second hand machines, but as second generation. They are put through a 90 point quality control check during refurbishment and the price advertised on our dedicated website is the price the customer pays – there are no hidden costs.”
Good quality equipment, be it mowers, golf buggies or utility vehicles, are purchased via Ransomes Jacobsen’s dealer network and industry contacts, evaluated for suitability and then re-worked in the Ipswich plant using only genuine manufacturers’ parts. Savings can be as much as 50% of a similar new machine. Each machine comes with an industry-leading 12 month warranty; the first six months are covered by Ransomes Jacobsen’s full manufacturer warranty with the remaining six months on a parts only basis.
A dedicated area of the manufacturing plant has been allocated for the new initiative under the control of Tom Stidder, a former Product Support Manager with the company, who will run the project, reporting to Jason King.
“We are very careful in our selection of machinery and because we are using genuine parts, we can confidently offer the 12 month warranty,” Jason King added. “This scheme enables us to increase the size of the Ransomes Jacobsen offering in the marketplace, at a very affordable price, in this current financial climate.”
