The Wentworth Club has become the latest golf club to install Blinder Bunker, with the world famous Surrey club having two of its practice bunkers lined with the revolutionary rubber material.
Since it was launched three years ago Blinder Bunker, which prevents bunker contamination and sand loss, while being completely free draining, has been installed in many golf clubs throughout the country with startling results.
“We have installed the Blinder Bunker into two of our practice bunkers and will be assessing them over the course of the next year,” said the Wentworth Club’s Director of Golf Courses and Grounds, Kenny Mackay.
“It is a leading product on the market and we felt that we wanted to try it out. Putting it into our practice bunkers means that they will tested thoroughly over the period,” he explained.
Blinder Bunker Director, Penny Long, is delighted to have had the opportunity to install Blinder at one of the finest and best known clubs in world golf.
“We are confident that the Wentworth Club will be pleased with the results of the Blinder Bunker trial. The feedback we have had from the many other clubs who have Blinder Bunkers installed has been extremely positive and many are looking to increase the number of Blinder Bunkers they have on their courses,” explained Penny.
“We are really pleased that the Wentworth Club has taken an interest in our product,” she added.
Among the over 70 clubs which have already installed Blinder Bunker are The RAC Club, Loch Lomond, Wimbledon Park GC, Royston GC, Richmond GC and Muswell Hill GC.
