Europe’s largest trade show and education event begins 9th October

8.21am 28th September 2012 - Exhibitions & Conferences

PGA Professionals, golf suppliers and industry leaders are making final preparations for Europe’s largest golf trade show and education event as The Golf Show 2012 rapidly approaches.

The event – to be held at the Harrogate International Centre from 9-11 October – has seen increased pre-registrations from delegates and has more exhibitors than ever before. This year it will also include a Teaching & Coaching Conference, lead by world-renowned coach David Leadbetter and Karl Morris, founder and Managing Director of the Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke Golf Schools.

Online registration – via www.golftradeshow.co.uk – is set to close next Thursday (27 September), but delegates wishing to attend can still do so by bringing their PGA Membership Card along with them and registering at the welcome desk.

PGA Professionals will have the opportunity to see more than 50 of the industry’s leading suppliers and service providers, including for the first time Mizuno and IJP Design, as well as enhancing their business and coaching knowledge through a full education programme, supplied by seminar leaders such as Philip Hesketh, Bill Sanderson, Jamie Donaldson, Ian Peek, Dr Rob Neal and Stephen Lewis.

David Leadbetter is the star of a new Teaching & Coaching Conference that will be held on the final day

A special Golf Industry Panel will be staged on the first day of the show with panellists including PGA Chief Executive Sandy Jones, TaylorMade-adidas Golf MD Europe Ben Sharpe, Direct Golf Chairman John Andrew and Foremost Golf Chief Executive Paul Hedges.

TGI Golf Partnership Managing Director Eddie Reid will chair the Panel, which will follow the same format as BBC programme Question Time, with delegates encouraged to ask questions to promote an in-depth discussion about the golf trade. The Teaching & Coaching Conference in association with Callaway, will be staged on the Thursday (11 October) and gives PGA Professionals the opportunity to learn from one of the world’s greatest coaches, David Leadbetter, who famously rebuilt Sir Nick Faldo’s swing and coached him to six Major titles.

Leadbetter will stage two sessions at the Teaching & Coaching Conference, his first titled The Leadbetter Coaching Philosophy Past, Present & Future will focus on his coaching principles and how they have changed over the decades.

In his second seminar Leadbetter will analyse the swings of some of the world’s greatest golfers and encourage discussion from the audience.

Following each of his seminars there will be a Q&A session and delegates are once again encouraged to submit their questions prior to the event to CPD@pga.org.uk

In between Leadbetter’s sessions Karl Morris will conduct his seminar What will Today’s Client want Tomorrow? In this session, Morris, who successfully runs both the Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke Golf Schools aims to enable delegates to enhance their value and become more successful in their roles.

John Davis, Golf Show Event Manager, said: “This year we have an increased number of exhibitors who are also taking larger stands and we have also seen a rise in the number of delegates pre-registering for the show, which is testament to the reputation that The Golf Show has within the industry.

“With high quality exhibitors, an extensive education programme and the new Teaching & Coaching Conference, PGA Professionals can now enhance every aspect of their business knowledge as well as completing their pre-booking for next season.”
