The PGAs of Europe and the European Golf Course Owners Association have agreed to work together to support and share knowledge with each other’s organisation.
Ian Randell (CEO of The PGAs of Europe) and Lodewijk Klootwijk (CEO of EGCOA) will today sign an agreement at the 3rd European Golf Business conference taking place in Berlin.
The PGAs of Europe specialise in the career requirements of all PGA professionals, including Directors of Golf, Head Professionals, Assistants, Players, and those who focus on teaching and coaching. Their membership consists of 35 national PGAs, five of them International Members located outside of Europe. The collective individual membership of these national PGAs amounts to some 15,000.
The principle has been established of these member countries sharing their knowledge and speaking with one voice.
“We are very happy to share knowledge with the EGCOA”, said Ian Randell. “Two heads are better than one, especially when it comes to golf affairs. Our two organisations can learn a great deal from each other and one immediate project will be to gain feedback on Golf Course Owners perception and requirements for PGA Professionals”.
The European Golf Course Owners Association provides services to support golf course owners in their aims, represents their interests and improves the golf business on a European level. The EGCOA supports the owners by spreading and sharing knowledge.
“This co-operation is beneficial for both organisations, because golf professionals can’t work without the support of the golf course owners and vice versa”, said Lodewijk Klootwijk. “Most issues of golf course owners are directly linked to the market and public of golf professionals.”
The 3rd European Golf Business Conference in Berlin will be a perfect event for signing the agreement since there is no occasion where more European decision-makers in golf gather. From the 5th until the 7th of November, Golf Course owners, golf managers, directors of golf, suppliers, representatives of national and European golf bodies, golf course architects and industry partners will be together in Berlin. The aim of the conference is to bring the European golf business together in order to get ideas to improve the operation of golf courses.
