12.02am 23rd April 2012 - People - This story was updated on Saturday, April 21st, 2012

Following the first four events, when hundreds of golfers and countless other generous supporters helped to raise just over £60,000 for charity, Swing for Sammy returns to Muswell Hill Golf Club in north London for a fifth successive year on Friday 29 June.

The main beneficiary will again be Cancer Research UK, and further donations will also be made to the Hospice in the Weald, the Royal Marsden Hospital, St Mark’s Hospital Foundation, MacMillan Nurses and North London Hospice.

Swing for Sammy celebrates the life and honours the courage of primary school teacher Samantha Trow (nee St John), who died of bowel cancer on 18 February 2008, aged 26.

Open to amateurs and professionals playing in teams of four (best two scores per hole to count; Stableford; full handicap allowance). Cost: £55 a head or £220 per team. To include: coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf, lunch or afternoon/evening BBQ, dozens of prizes, auction, raffle and disco. Breakfast will be available at the club from 7.30am.

Trick-shot specialist Jeremy Dale will again be the day’s star attraction and will give one of his famous clinics at the end of play.

Entries, from individuals or teams, should be sent to: Adrian Hobbs, Club Manager, Muswell Hill GC, Rhodes Avenue, London N22 7UT (cheques made out to Muswell Hill GC, please).

Corporate donations (made out to Cancer Research UK), raffle and competition prizes, along with auction items should be sent to Paul Trow (Sam’s father-in-law) at 3 Clifton Avenue, London N3 1BN. Holes are available to be sponsored from £125, with five holes (1st, 3rd, 10th, 17th and 18th) available at £200 each.

Personal donations from UK tax-payers are particularly encouraged. They can be made on www.justgiving.com/bentrow
