Casey Back to Thrill Fans at Golf Live 2012

12.14am 20th March 2012 - Exhibitions & Conferences

England’s Paul Casey was a leading supporter when Golf Live made its debut two years ago and the 11-time European Tour winner will again be one of the star attractions when the 2012 version of the show takes place in May.

Casey, who has played a leading role in helping English golf come to the forefront of the game in the last decade, will join victorious Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie and South African legend Gary Player in a star-studded line-up at the London Golf Club from 18-20 May.

The 34-year-old, who returned to action this month after ten weeks out with a dislocated shoulder, will take part in a series of skills challenges and clinics as well as being available to offer useful advice and tips.

Lining up alongside him at the event – the most interactive of its kind in the world –  will be European Tour winners Rhys Davies and Oliver Fisher after they became the latest big-name professionals to sign up to the show.

Welsh star Davies, a double winner on the European Tour in 2010, will be appearing at Golf Live for the second year in a row while ex-world number one amateur Fisher will be making his debut after a breakthrough season in 2011 when he claimed his first  professional victory at the Czech Open.

With the trio joining event ambassador Montgomerie, Player, Solheim Cup winning captain Alison Nicholas and Ladies’ European Tour star Melissa Reid, this year’s galaxy of professional stars promises to be the best yet since Golf Live was launched.

Casey, who has also represented Europe three times in the Ryder Cup, said: “I really enjoyed my visit to Golf Live in 2010 and can’t wait to come back again.

“Interacting with the fans is always great fun and this event gives us a chance to do just that at a level we’re not able to at tournaments. It’s a tremendous three days and truly has something for everyone.”

James Goode, Golf Live’s event director, said: “Paul was a huge success when he took part in the launch two years ago and it’s fantastic news that he is coming back.

“He is part of the new breed of players who have helped European golf become a major worldwide force and makes a great addition to the stellar line-up we already have appearing.”

Pete Cowen, coach of world number three Lee Westwood, will also be on hand to share his swing methods and secrets while consumers will have the chance to try out the latest in golf club technology from the game’s top brands.

Leading manufacturers including TaylorMade, Callaway, Wilson, Cleveland, Mizuno, Yonex and Cobra will all be present to demonstrate their latest equipment on the show’s 30-bay outdoor driving range.

In addition, the likes of Troon Golf, Tommy Hilfiger Golf,PebbleBeach, Golf Buddy, Archer Golf, Turnberry Resort and ECCO will also be among the impressive cast of companies involved.

And as well as being able to watch, listen to and ask questions of the star-studded cast during the three-day show, people also have the chance to play alongside the Tour professionals with Golf Live’s Heritage Hospitality Package available for just £375 plus VAT per person.

Tickets for Golf Live cost just £20 for adults while under-18s can gain free entry by registering on Golf Live’s website.
