More than a dozen suppliers have joined together to form The Indian Golf Industry Association. They include golf course designers and suppliers of turf and irrigation equipment.
IGIA is a non profit industry association registered under the Society Act of India and has three core activities.
- Promote Golf inIndiathrough researched information dissemination to all levels of government and the general public. The IGIA will specifically develop a golf related research document each year to present to all levels of government and to promote this information through media outlets.
- Educate and inform its members by the offering of an annual conference, targeted training opportunities and professional Industry interaction.
- Assist to build and promote the Indian Golf Industry through the running of an annual Golf Expo.
The groups supporting the IGIA at its initial launch are, Oxford Golf, Rain Bird, David Hemstock & Associates, Karma Lakelands Golf, Global Golf (India), Pacific Coast Design, Irrigation Products International, Golfplan, Eagleton Golf Village, Toro, New Millennium, Golf Style Magazine, Harvel Irrigations Private Limited and Tiger Sports Management.
Other associations, companies and golf courses are invited to join the IGIA and participate in the promotion of Golf in India. Info@igia.co.in
The Indian Golf Industry Association will conduct its Annual Golf Exhibition/Seminars at the Eagleton Golf Village, Bangalore on September 15- 17, 2011. The programme is designed to attract real estate developers, golf course related professionals and equipment manufacturers.
