Aegean becomes Preferred Airline of PGAE

12.41am 20th April 2011 - Corporate - This story was updated on Thursday, May 19th, 2011

The strong business links that were forged between the PGAs of Europe and Aegean Airlines in 2006 with the launch of an International Pro-Am have been strengthened and extended significantly by the signing of a Corporate Partnership agreement.

As the sixth of these annual Pro-Ams approaches on June 1-4, Aegean Airlines are officially named as the ‘Preferred Airline of the PGAs of Europe’, a relationship that benefits member PGAs and their members by the availability of preferential rates.

This latest ‘Working Together’ development became a natural progression during the previous five-years of the PGAs of Europe’s endorsement of the Pro-Am that has grown in status and popularity as the tournament has grown into a ‘not-to-be-missed’ event each June.

Now an important event on Greece’s sporting calendar, the Aegean Airlines Pro-am has become a crucial shop window for the magnificent Navarino Dunes Golf Resort, in the southwest, Messinia region of the Peloponnese with its luxurious hotels and superb golf courses, where it is to be staged once again in 2011.

As in each of its former years, the Pro-Am sold out its 44 four-man team places up to three months in advance as PGA professionals and their teams return year after year to sample the pleasure of the springtime golf in a glorious climate.

The teams open up with 36 holes of conventional pro-am golf before the pros and the amateurs divide on the third day when the pros, as individuals are able to make a charge for a share of the €62.000 prize fund and the amateurs play a separate competition for excellent prizes.
