In 2005 Cobra enjoyed unprecedented success in custom fit sales with the launch of the Inertia Series irons and a further expansion in Custom Fit accounts around the UK. On the back of that success Cobra is now going full speed ahead with the introduction of the new ‘Speed Series‘ driver and fairway metals in 2006 backed with an innovative method of ‘fitting‘ every player to a club ‘speed tuned‘ to match their ball speed.
In 2006 more than 700 Cobra retailers will have the capability to fit a golfer to Cobra’s new Speed drivers and fairway metals. Every customer who buys into a Cobra pre-order and stocks the line of Cobra Speed metals will be provided with an Accusport speed monitor free of charge.
The Accusport products are very well recognized for their accuracy and portability. The monitor measures ball speed, club head speed, distance and launch angle to instantaneously quantify the performance of both player and equipment – an ideal piece of equipment for a Cobra account to match their customers to the correct King Cobra Speed driver and fairway metal.
Cobra’s retail partners have reacted very positively to this new opportunity. Tartan Golf International’s Willy Walker from Strathclyde Golf Centre comments, “We had a great year in 2005 on Cobra Custom fit sales with the new Inertia irons and we are very excited to add the ball speed measurement capabilities to our Cobra driver and fairway metal fitting. I am looking forward to another good year with Cobra.”
The King Cobra Speed Series is the first driver and fairway line designed to optimise every player’s unique ball speed for unmatched distance and accuracy. The new Speed Series consists of four models, each designed for distinct player types and their specific ball speeds. From head to shaft to grip, every King Cobra Speed model is tuned to a specific player profile to increase their ball speed, distance and accuracy.
