AccuSport International, Inc. has announced a new customer relationship with one of the golf industry’s largest and best known names. Acushnet Company, which is comprised of the Titleist, FootJoy, Cobra and Pinnacle brands, has signed on to begin using AccuSport’s Vector Launch System. Acushnet began making Vector Launch Systems available to their staff club fitters in the third quarter of 2005.
AccuSport is the leading developer and marketer of golf swing launch monitors and its Vector Launch System is recognized throughout the golf industry for its accuracy, portability and affordability. The Vector Launch System measures and analyzes launch angle, ball speed, backspin, sidespin and side angle to instantaneously quantify the performance of both player and equipment. Vector enables manufacturers to explore the club design and technology frontier, provides teaching golf professionals a technologically superior instruction tool, and allows retailers to better serve their customers via a detailed club-fitting experience.
Steve Pelisek, vice president, Titleist golf club sales, cited Vector’s accuracy, reliability and affordability as some of the reasons for choosing AccuSport to supply the company with launch monitors.
“The 2,500 authorized Titleist club fitters have always embraced technological developments in the club fitting process,” stated Pelisek. “They are very interested in incorporating launch monitor technology to deliver an even more valuable customer experience. We performed a very thorough market review and assessment with regards to available launch monitor technology and Vector met our needs completely with regards to accuracy, dependability and price. We‘re very excited to be able to make the Vector Launch System available to our staff to enhance their club fitting services.”
Randall Tuttle, CEO of AccuSport commented, “We‘re extremely happy to establish this new relationship with Acushnet, a company we have admired for years. We‘ve had long term relationships with nearly every other OEM, and now adding Acushnet to our list as an OEM partner further validates our launch monitor technology. The fact that they‘ve chosen to deploy the Vector Launch System is a wonderful endorsement.”
Mr. Tuttle declined to reveal the size of the Acushnet order but did indicate that the relationship began originally with orders for fitters in the United States and now extends internationally. AccuSport has begun fulfilling orders for Titleist’s Australian, Canadian and European operations, and expects to build upon this in 2006.
Nick Sedgwick from ProShot commented, “This is yet another exciting development in the history of Vector. When a major manufacturer such as Acushnet commits to a product it makes the rest of the industry sit up and take note. We look forward to working with AccuSport and Acushnet in the years to come.”
AccuSport International, Inc., located in Winston-Salem, NC, introduced the Vector Launch System to the commercial market in 2003, and has rapidly become the industry leader in launch monitor technology and market share. With distribution in the United Kingdom and many other countries in Europe, Canada, Japan and Australia, the Vector Launch System has become the tool that is changing the way the golf industry looks at ball flight, driver lofts and ball spin rates, and is helping all golfers better understand their game.
