Nike Golf has announced the launch of a partnership with Sympatex Technologies GmbH whereby Sympatex will provide its superior waterproofing membrane technology across a range of Nike Golf footwear in 2006 and beyond.
From February 2006 golfers across Europe and the Middle East will be able to pick up the latest footwear from Nike Golf including the newest addition to its athletic category in footwear, Nike Shox Golf (SRP: £110.00, €160, SEK 1595). Engineered for the golfer looking for superior comfort and support while providing responsiveness, stability and durable cushioning, the innovative column and plate design of the Shox is similar to a spring. On heel impact, the column compresses and shock forces are distributed across the plate. When the columns return to their natural shape, the result is forward propulsion and an energy return that leaves the wearer’s legs less fatigued over time.
With every footstep, the Nike Shox Golf keeps the foot dry and comfortable thanks to the Sympatex™ Waterproof lining and a one-year limited waterproof warranty. A synthetic leather combined with lightweight mesh on the exterior ensures further comfort and breathability.
Sympatex ALLWEATHER construction is a combination of technologies that work together to keep the foot dry and comfortable. Inside the shoe, the lining easily transports vapour away from the foot. While outside a proven, lightweight, ultra thin, non-porous waterproof membrane guarantees to repel external moisture. This climate control advantage offers uncompromised performance characteristics, creating the ultimate comfort protection in golf footwear. This makes the wearer completely “weatherproof” – in all situations.
Tiger marched to victory in the final Major of the 2005 season, claiming the PGA Championship title sporting Nike Golf’s New SP-7.5 Footwear. (SRP: £120, €180, SEK 1695) True to Nike tradition, the SP-7.5’s visible heel Air-Sole and forefoot Zoom Air units provide lightweight cushioning and comfort for the life of the shoe. In addition to Nike Inc.’s proprietary Air technology, the SP-7.5 features Sympatex Waterproof lining and the newly designed Traction at Contact 4 (T&C 4) Thermal Plastic Urethane (TPU) outsole, which offers maximum green-friendly traction and stability.
Sympatex Waterproof lining also features in both the men’s’ and women’s’ SP6 footwear range for 2006 as well as the men’s’ SP5.5 shoe.
Sander Van Rijn, Nike Golf’s product line manager footwear and equipment EMEA said, “The collaboration between Nike Golf and Sympatex Technologies is an exciting one in terms of technology, which is an area we continually strive to excel in and on which we have built our reputation as a brand. We are now able to offer golfers of all abilities the opportunity to have the very best footwear and waterproofing protection available on the market.”
