Golfers of all abilities are being invited to brush up on the rules of the golf with some of the best referees in the country.
PGA tournament staff, who have officiated at all four Major championships, the Ryder Cup and European Tour events, will pass on their expertise at two specially arranged Rules of Golf courses at The Belfry.
The courses, which will include in depth analysis of the basic Rules as well as televised rules incidents and practical demonstrations, is perfect for all players and essential knowledge for tournament organisers across the country.
“There has never been a better time to improve your knowledge on the Rules of Golf following so many high profile Rules incidents last season,” said PGA head of golf operations Simon Higginbottom.
“For club secretaries and committees in charge of running competitions it is not only essential to have a sound knowledge of the Rules but also to be confident in their application. That is why our courses have proved so popular over the years .in that our delivery is very interactive and hands on. As for the amateur golfer, having a grasp of the basics will inevitably lead to a greater enjoyment of the game”
In order to cater for all levels there will be an Introduction to the Rules of Golf and an Advanced Rules of Golf and Refereeing course which will include an optional examination for those delegates interested in taking their refereeing further.
The courses will be held at PGA Headquarters at The Belfry and details are as follows:
- Introduction to the Rules of Golf – Friday 11 March (£125)
- Advanced Rules of Golf and Refereeing – Friday 25 March (£125)
Those delegates wishing to attend both courses can book for a discounted rate of £225.
