Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort in France has announced the appointment of Paul Armitage as its Director of Development, effective from December 1.
Armitage has held key positions within several hotel and golf resorts in France and brings 30 years of professional experience to the role.
As part of his new position Armitage will be responsible for steering and supporting the Provence-based resort’s commercial development, to establish the destination as one of the most prestigious golf resorts both nationally and internationally.
He will use his leadership, experience and passion to develop new partnerships with major players in the golf and tourism sectors, to support the creation of national and international sporting events.
Armitage has distinguished himself at the highest level within his industry in Europe, most notably his seven years spent as General Manager of Le Golf National in Paris, during which time he led the golf course through the organisation of the 2018 Ryder Cup with resounding success. Under his leadership, he worked tirelessly to elevate this destination to the status of a global benchmark for golf.
He was also a member of the Executive Committee of the French Golf Federation and, more recently, he participated in the preparation of the men’s and women’s golf events during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as part of the organisation committee.
He comments: “I am excited to begin this new chapter in my career by joining the team at Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort in a strategic position for the resort’s development. It is an honour for me to contribute to this exceptional place which, in 20 years, has distinguished itself as a leading destination in France.
“The many upcoming projects that are under way at Terre Blanche are all opportunities that will strengthen its reputation both in France and internationally. I am looking forward to getting fully involved in these initiatives, and laying the foundations for the next 20 years to help build an ambitious future for the resort.”
