Kris Kim, the 16-year-old English amateur who is making his debut on the PGA Tour at this week’s The CJ Cup Byron Nelson, has signed a sponsorship deal with apparel and footwear brand Under Armour.

The Walton Heath golfer, who starred in Europe’s victory at last year’s junior Ryder Cup, will compete in Texas against some of the best players in the world, with the field at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch also including former number one and fellow Under Armour athlete Jordan Spieth.

After a breakout year in 2023 that saw him take victories in the Boys’ Amateur title, as well as the European Individual Championship and the McGregor Trophy, Kim is widely regarded as one of the outstanding teenage prospects in English men’s golf.

On the golf course, Kim will be wearing Under Armour’s latest golf apparel as well as the UA Drive Pro footwear.

Speaking about UA’s backing, Kim said: “Under Armour has helped me for some time now. I’m very grateful for their support and very happy to continue the partnership.”

Kevin Ross, Managing Director of Under Armour EMEA, said: “It’s great to be working with such an exciting talent as Kris. His hard work ethic and humble nature aligns with the values of Under Armour perfectly. We look forward to supporting Kris reach his goals over the coming years.”

Kim received a special sponsor’s invitation to play in the CJ Cup Byron Nelson as he is a member of the CJ Group’s team of golf ambassadors.
