Europe’s top teach-in draws 800 professionals

11.20pm 23rd September 2003 - Exhibitions & Conferences

European golf’s greatest-ever Teach-in has drawn 800 professionals from 29 countries to Munich in October.
The PGA of Europe’s 6th Teaching and Coaching Conference featuring, as speakers, 15 of the world’s most distinguished experts on a range of educational topics, over a three-day schedule, is proving an unprecedented attraction.
Bookings by golf professionals have been received from countries all around the globe, including the United States, Australia and South Africa along with every leading European golfing nation.
In a week-long Munich GOLFEST the TCC (2nd to 4th October) is followed immediately by the 11th annual PGA of Europe Golf Trade Exhibition, Golf Europe 2003 (5th to 7th October) at which the organisers are confident of record-breaking attendance figures.
More than 5,000 ‘trade-only‘ visitors from around 50 countries and every continent are expected at the longest-established European golf show, which coincides with the famous Oktoberfest.
“We were always confident that, by staging the two important events one after the other, at this most modern Trade Centre, and in such a central European location as Munich, the attendance would be high,” said Lawrie Thornton, PGAE general secretary. “However, the numbers have promised to exceed all expectations as registrations have continued to come in.”
“Our Education Committee provides a magnificent service to our 33 member PGAs, as indicated by the increasingly high status of European golf, the quality of the emerging tournament players and the growth of the game in countries where golf was previously an unknown sport,” he added
The Munich GOLFEST, with its concentration on education, merchandising and marketing comprises a week of major significance for the entire golfing community.
