The Genesis Scottish Open will again be played at The Renaissance Club from 7–10 July and is set to attract one of its best-ever fields, given it will be co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour. A few weeks later, the AIG Women’s Open will be staged for the first time at Muirfield from 4–7 August as leading players from across the globe chase the prestigious Major title.
Boasting the world’s greatest concentration of championship links courses on a 30-mile stretch of East Lothian coastline, the region again looks forward to showcasing its qualities to the world and welcoming players, officials and spectators for two headline events on the sporting calendar.

The Genesis Scottish Open returns to The Renaissance for the fourth consecutive time with a new title sponsor, while it has also retained Rolex Series status as well as its traditional slot in the season – a week prior to The 150th Open at St Andrews. The PGA Tour will co-sanction the event for the first time as part of its new Strategic Alliance with the DP World Tour.
It will be the sixth time Scotland’s Golf Coast has staged the men’s event in eight years given Gullane, which offers a wonderful mix of three courses, was the tournament host in 2015 and 2018. All three editions of the event at the Renaissance have been decided by play-offs, with Australian Min Woo Lee edging out Matt Fitzpatrick and Thomas Detry to win in July.
The AIG Women’s Open, won by Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist at Carnoustie in August, will break new ground during its staging at Muirfield. A 16-time Open venue, it most recently hosted the battle for the Claret Jug in 2013 when Phil Mickelson prevailed. The renowned links was also the scene for Scotland’s first staging of the Ryder Cup back in 1973.
