FootJoy is celebrating a double winning weekend following Rafa Cabrera-Bello’s home win on the European Tour and Sungjae Im’s impressive win at the Shriners Children’s Open on his 100th outing on the PGA Tour.
In Spain, FJ brand ambassador Cabrera-Bello was crowned the home hero at the Open de España, after winning an all-Spanish playoff and claiming his fourth European Tour title.
Cabrera-Bello celebrated the win with his home crowd, saying: “I knew it was going to be a really hard battle today. I’ve been believing in myself and I’ve had amazing support all this week. I was just hanging in there and I knew I would have an opportunity and I’m glad luck fell my way.”
Whilst PGA Tour star Sungjae Im was dialled in through the weekend in Pro|SL Carbon BOA, posting a bogey-free opening two rounds of 63 and 65, before leaving his best to last with a near perfect 62 to close the win on Sunday.
Celebrating his second win on Tour, Im said: “It was very tough to get my first win but I felt like the second one was harder and harder. But I kept my patience. I tried to stay composed and I’m glad it came.”
