The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) has created a new synopsis online that features research projects completed and published between 2007-2009.
The project is funded by GCSAA’s philanthropic organization, The Environmental Institute for Golf, through a grant from Floratine.
“The goal of the GCSAA research program is to fund research that is important to superintendents,” said Clark Throssell, Ph.D., GCSAA director of research. “Equally important, is to get the research results in the hands of superintendents. Thanks to the generous support of Floratine, we are able to reach out to superintendents with a synopsis of the results that will help them improve the golf course.”
The goal of the GCSAA research program is to fund research that is important to golf course superintendents. To achieve this goal, and since gowing conditions and the problems faced by superintendents vary greatly across the country, the research projects cover a wide range of topics.
The research highlighted in the GCSAA Research Synopsis represents projects that were completed between 2007 and 2009, and have been published in Golf Course Management magazine. Completed projects will be added each year once they have been published.
“Research is a major point of emphasis for our business,” said Mike Cavanaugh,

A long-time suporter of GCSAA and The Institute, Floratine is recognized at the Governor’s Club level for donors who have contributed between $50,000-$99,999 to The Institute since 1987. With this grant, Floratine is also recognized in the Platinum Tee Club for donors who contribute a minimum of $5,000 annually to The Institute.
