This week sees the launch of a new glossy international magazine, World Golfer – the first golf title aimed solely at the huge number of travelling golfers.
World Golfer‘s first issue includes features from Scotland, Ireland and Portugal and also from more exotic destinations such as the Bahamas, Barbados, California, Malaysia, New Zealand and even Vietnam.
World Golfer‘s writers and photographers include some of the world’s best and the magazine itself has been created to the very highest standards, with elegant design on top-class paper. The page size is broader than A4 to do justice to its glorious photos and the first issue runs to 128 pages.
Nick Turnbull, the editor, says, “World Golfer is a completely new concept and has been created to meet a large and growing demand. More than 650,000 British golfers take one or more golf holidays every year and that figure has been rising annually at a steady 8% for the last decade.
“Golf tourism is big business and is hugely popular with tourist authorities worldwide. Golf is ecologically friendly and golf travellers are high-spending AB1s. Golf is a fast-emerging sport in a very large number of countries and we have been delighted by the welcome World Golfer has received.
“In every issue we will include domestic and European features with articles from further afield – destinations which would make a great week’s holiday and fabulous day-dream golf destinations such as the Far East, Australasia and the western United States.‘
World Golfer is launching as a bi-monthly with a cover price of £4.50. Initially the target circulation is 20-30,000 copies.
