PGA Catalunya will open a new €5 million Wellness Centre on April 16, offering residents, guests and golfers an array of physical and emotional wellbeing experiences.
The Wellness Centre is a holistic haven embracing movement, recovery and relaxation, offering both traditional and cutting-edge therapies and expertise.
The new centre’s philosophy reflects that of PGA Catalunya, Spain’s number one golf resort: to provide a space where people can disconnect from the world and reconnect with themselves, relax in nature and spend precious time with family and friends.
David Plana, CEO of PGA Catalunya, said: “After the experience of the past year, the world has gained a deeper of the importance of wellbeing. For us, it’s something that has long been at the heart of the experiences we offer and why our promise to customers is to play well, stay well. “The opening of the Wellness Centre – surrounded by the pine forests, lakes and mountains of the countryside outside Barcelona – is another significant step towards our objective of being one of the leading golf and wellness destinations in the world, and we look forward to welcoming residents, members and guests.”
Located next to the 5-star Hotel Camiral at the heart of the resort, the Wellness Centre is designed to invite the natural surroundings in, creating a haven away from the stresses of everyday life.
Its design – crafted by the renowned Lagula Arquitectes – takes inspiration from the Japanese principles of unaltered natural beauty, quiet solitude and simplicity, blending seamlessly with the landscape and surrounding gardens.
Guests will re-establish links with nature as they discover the different parts of the 1,000m² space, comprising nine treatment rooms, gym and yoga studios and thermal and water facilities set among areas that reflect gardens, forest clearings and waterfalls.
Healing techniques are personalised for guests’ needs and accelerated by high-tech therapy normally only found at clinics or elite athlete facilities, including cryotherapy, vitamin infusions, hyperbaric oxygen and photomodulation.
PGA Catalunya is working in collaboration with some of the most respected experts to provide these services. Partners include world leading MECOTEC for the Cryo Therapy treatments (PGA Catalunya is the first destination in Spain to have the MECOTEC double chamber cabin) and NADclinic London under the expertise of Dr Saskia Kloppenburg for IV infusions programs.
Wellness is also integrated into the resort’s real estate, which will soon include the recently-presented Well-Villa, an innovative property specifically designed to enrich the wellbeing of its occupants.
