Once Ryder Cup Winner and 7 times PGA European Tour winner (among other accolades), Ronan Rafferty has joined forces with His Grace the Duke of Roxburghe (himself an avid golfer) to promote and raise the profile of the prestigious Roxburghe Championship Golf Club in Kelso, in the Scottish Borders.
Designed by Dave Thomas, the Roxburghe Golf Course was opened in 1997 and is one of the top inland courses in the country, and only one of two championship golf courses in the Scottish Borders.
Ronan Rafferty completed a glittering career as a professional golfer and is now one of the sport’s top analysts and commentators.
“It is a privilege for me to be working closely with the Duke of Roxburghe and his team and to be able to take the Roxburghe course to the next level of excellence. This is an exciting time to be involved with the course and the Roxburghe Estate with a development plan which should transform the Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course into the only 5-star resort in the region,” says Ronan.
Ronan Rafferty is going to provide his support and considerable expertise to the Club in order to re-enforce the club’s position as a world-class golf centre of excellence, with a golf academy providing the best teaching facility in the Scottish Borders. Other areas of involvement will be the development of a social responsibility programme with the unique Roxburghe youth programme, junior golf camps, as well as the building of strong relationships with regular European and Senior tours.
“This is an exciting stage in the creation of a world-class resort destination in the Scottish Borders, and the experience and proven skills of Ronan Rafferty will be key to bringing about the successful future expansion and operation at The Roxburghe,” said His Grace, The Duke of Roxburghe.
