Flying the flag together – Zest.Golf partners with Global Golf4 Cancer

9.20am 14th February 2020 - Corporate

Leading golf technology company, Zest.Golf, are delighted to announce an innovative partnership with the internationally renowned Global Golf4 Cancer campaign.

Founded by Nick Edmund and launched in 2017, Global Golf4 Cancer’s mission is to inspire the golfing community to ‘fly the flag’ and support cancer fighters and cancer charities worldwide. The first step of the partnership will see Zest promoting Global Golf4 Cancer to their ever-growing network of golf businesses around the world, with the longer-term aim being to identify and partner in a range of fundraising activities.

“With some 50 million golfers worldwide, our vision has been to utilise the game’s incredible reach, encouraging it to become a vehicle for raising awareness, as well as a catalyst for fundraising”, explained Edmund. “We invite golf clubs and event organisers to fly the Global Golf4 Cancer flag on the 4th hole of their courses in support of the initiative. Some clubs are choosing to fly the flag 365 days of the year and others at specific times – all their support is hugely appreciated.”

The ‘4’ theme emanates from the sad fact that today, at least 1 in 4 of us will be affected by the disease at some point in our lifetime.  Plus, the number 4 is synonymous with the game of golf – fourball, foursomes, par fours and the four major championships.

While developing the campaign Nick has embarked on a series of awareness-creating ‘golf-walks’ – marathon treks that have seen him walk literally hundreds of miles with a golf bag on his back. During these epic ventures he has called into numerous golf clubs and played their 4th hole before leaving behind a special Global Golf4 Cancer ‘4-flag’.

“The response from golf clubs  has been incredible, and the list of those supporting the campaign reads like a ‘who’s who’ of iconic golf destinations, including Pebble Beach, Royal Dornoch, Sunningdale, Harbour Town, Royal Portrush, Durban Country Club, The Jockey Club in Buenos Aires, Sentosa in Singapore and the Old Course at St Andrews.”

Oliver Dury, Commercial Director, of Zest.Golf enthused, “We have been closely following Nick’s fabulous endeavours since 2017 and didn’t have any hesitation in partnering with Global Golf4 Cancer when the opportunity arose. Nick is an enormously inspirational individual and we are very much looking forward to helping him grow the campaign in every corner of the globe.”
