‘Bunkers!’ crazy golf brand set for UK roll out after Swansea launch

8.47am 6th February 2020 - Corporate

Adventure Leisure, a wholly owned subsidiary of Burhill Golf and Leisure, launched its first BUNKERS! crazy golf venue with a party filled with prizes and entertainment.

BUNKERS! Swansea features two 12-hole putting courses, as well as offering electro darts, table tennis, food and drinks.

More than 300 guests attended the launch event in Swansea, where they put the Loco and Zoro 12-hole themed putting courses to the test, while enjoying a mix of cocktails, food and music. A prize draw held on the night to win a £2,000 holiday was won by Louis Marsh, an aerospace engineering student at Swansea University.

BUNKERS! Is targeting the student and adult market for the evenings and families during the day

“The launch event was a fantastic way to kick off the year for BUNKERS!” commented general manager Richard Byrne: “It was a great night and I’m sure the buzz and excitement created over the last few weeks will be the spark for a tremendous first year. We’ve been overwhelmed by the initial support and we are already becoming a favourite destination for the local community, which will only grow as word spreads.”

The Swansea launch represents the first venue in the new BUNKERS! brand, which Adventure Leisure say will be the first of many. Operations and Development Director Andrew Scholey said: “We’re extremely excited with the successful introduction of BUNKERS! in Swansea, and we are looking forward to growing the brand across the UK, starting with another site in Cardiff which will open later this year.”

Adventure Leisure already operates an existing adventure golf brand, Mr Mulligans, which has grown to a portfolio of ten facilities at golf centres, retail parks and in city centres throughout the UK over the last two years.

While Mr Mulligans traditionally targets the family market, BUNKERS! is designed to meet the growing demand among student and adult groups for engaging leisure activities. BUNKERS! Swansea caters for students and adults only from 8pm daily, with an age limit of 18, however families and children are welcome to use the facilities outside of those times.
