Electric trolley company PowaKaddy has announced an increase in its year-on-year UK market share for 2018.
According to data unveiled by golf industry research specialists Datatech, PowaKaddy secured a 60% share of electronic trolley sales over the last 12 months ending in December.
PowaKaddy’s performance was led by its Freeway range – comprising the FW3s, FW5s, FW7s and FW7s GPS trollies. Golf Datatech also showed that sales of standard-sized trolleys from all manufacturers accounted for over 70% of total sales compared to compact trolleys.
Commenting of the figures, PowaKaddy CEO David Catford said: “We are pleased to see that our Freeway collection still sets the standard in the UK market and this shows no sign of slowing up. The 2019 PowaKaddy range is our most impressive family of electric trollies ever and our increased market share is testament to our commitment to building a range that caters for every golfer’s needs.”
He added: “We have always been proud of our dedication to pushing the boundaries of trolley innovation, and that is why we are ready to build on last year’s success by launching our most complete range ever in 2019.”
PowaKaddy entered the market for smaller trolleys with the launch of Compact C2 in 2017, and built on that with the launch of the Compact C2i in 2018, which was an integral component of the company’s overall sales figures in 2018.
“In the compact sector, sales of the ultra-compact C2i represented 59% of UK sales in that category, outselling what we regard as our nearest competitor’s larger ‘mid-size’ offering,” added Catford.
