HMH Golf & Leisure has announced the sale of Cambridge Meridian Golf Club to a London based property investor. The sale completed on 21st September 2018 – the price has not been disclosed.
The Golf Club is situated 5 miles west of the City of Cambridge and comprises an 18-hole course and clubhouse set in approximately 205 acres of freehold land. The golf course, which was designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark, straddles the Meridian Line – just one of ten courses worldwide to do so. Hence the name – golfers cross the Meridian Line seven times during the round
The site has consent for a hotel and the purchaser’s intention is to build out the consent and to improve the business.
HMH Golf & Leisure acted as exclusive agents. Speaking to GBN, Tom Marriott, the HMH Director who handled the sale, said: “The buyer is a London based property company who are looking to build out the hotel and improve the facilities generally. This sale demonstrates HMH’s continued strong presence in the golf property market. We have five more transactions currently in solicitors’ hands, with values totalling just under £16m.”
