Ahead of BTME, BIGGA’s Regional Conferences begin next week across the UK featuring presentations from a range of experts.
They kick off on Tuesday 6 November with the Midland Conference at Forest Hill Golf Club, starting at 9 am.
Highlights include a presentation from Master Greenkeeper Daniel Lightfoot and a timely seminar on drainage from Melvyn Taylor, Managing Director of Turfdry.
Wednesday 7 November is the date for the Northern Conference at The Phoenix Sports Centre in Rotherham at 10 am. Speakers include Henry Bechelet – Technical Sales Manager for Everris – who will be exploring the implications of nutrition within integrated turf management, and Jonathan Knowles from Myerscough College who will be looking at education pathways and apprenticeships.
The events then head South East to Thorpeness Golf Club on Wednesday 14 November. Registration begins at 8.30 am and attendees will be treated to Ken Moodie’s presentation on the improvements made to Thorpeness, as well as Nigel Church’s views on safety equipment developments.
The South West & South Wales Conference is on Thursday 15 November at Oaktree Arena, Bristol. The theme is ‘Turf Management in all its Glory’ and features David Cole – Course Manager at Loch Lomond– on winter kill and Robert Wills talking about changes in greenkeeping seen by a First Assistant.

The Scotland area conference takes place on Tuesday 5 March at the Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline. More information will be available nearer the time.
