Four Scottish golf courses have received a major Pan-European accolade for leading the way in the care of the environment

The Scottish Golf Course Wildlife Group has recently completed two projects, both of which are aimed at assisting Golf Clubs and Local Authorities across Scotland in their course management

Niddry Castle Golf Club in Scotland had always been concerned about the level of maintenance required by a fine turf putting green shaded by mature trees and subjected to extensive annual leaf drop. Now the speed of the artificial putting green can be altered by a light brushing while the all-weather tee on the opening hole has taken pressure off the adjacent turf tee which was suffering from high wear and tear
