The Australian media entrepreneur Jeff Chapman has taken a 60% stake in Golf Club Holdings PLC, the UK based golf club owner and operator whose properties include Penkridge Golf Club in Staffordshire (now re-named The Chase), Wickham Park just north of Fareham in Hampshire, the newly opened Ecclestone Park near Prescot, Merseyside, Batchworth Park in Rickmansworth, South Winchester in Hampshire, The Vale Golf and Country Club in Worcestershire and Vale Royal Abbey in Cheshire. Earlier this year Golf Club Holdings sold The Lambourne Club between Maidenhead and Slough to the investor consortium which owns the upmarket Cliveden Hotel nearby but GCH has continued to operate the club under a management contract which expires at the end of this year
