Geoff Swain, the reigning World Golf Trick-Shot Champion, will perform his award winning ‘Golf Unplugged’ trick-shot show at the UK’s newest golf festival in July.
Swain will entertain competitors at the Thorpeness Festival of Golf, Britain’s newest golf festival, from July 28-31 at Thorpeness Hotel and Golf Club, Suffolk.
A PGA qualified Golf Professional from Bedford, England, Swain combines rare levels of golfing skill with dexterity, hand eye coordination and comic delivery.
He has entertained some of the biggest names in the golf world, including Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Gary Player, Ryder Cup Captains Paul McGinley and Colin Montgomerie and is regarded as one of the best entertainers on the UK corporate and celebrity golf day circuits.
Paul Clouting, hotel director at Thorpeness Hotel and Golf Club, said: “The inaugural Thorpeness Festival of Golf is shaping up to be a brilliant event and we wanted it to be unforgettable and something that people talk about for months if not years afterwards.
That’s why we’ve booked Geoff Swain, because he is arguably the most talented golf trick-shot artist in the world and undoubtedly the funniest.”
As well as performing his repertoire of golf trick shots, including playing tennis and cricket with golf clubs and balls, hitting moving balls out of mid-air and striking giant clubs, Geoff will compère the festival’s closing prize giving and gala dinner at Thorpeness Country Club.
Geoff Swain said: “Thorpeness is a gorgeous place to play golf and spend a few days away. The SuffolkCoast and Thorpeness in particular is well known for its quality courses and this festival provides an ideal opportunity for golfers to stay in the area, play some fun but competitive golf and have a great time in the evening.”
The Thorpeness Festival of Golf will be played over four days at the classic James Braid designed heathland course on Suffolk’s Heritage Coast with a variety of competition formats, evening entertainment and a coaching clinic with veteran European Tour coach Bill Ferguson, who most famously worked with Colin Montgomerie from childhood through to the professional ranks.
Play and stay packages are available at the 36-bedroom Thorpeness Hotel and Golf Club for the duration of the festival and there is the option to compete in individual competitions and festival days for golfers local to East Anglia and Suffolk.
Geoff Swain’s Golf Unplugged takes place on July 30th at 4.45pm on the practice ground at Thorpeness Hotel and Golf Club.
Members of the public wishing to watch Geoff Swain’s ‘Golf Unplugged’ show can buy tickets from the Thorpeness Golf Club professional’s shop or pay on the day. Tickets are £5.
