Entering into this new partnership will enable Welcome to Yorkshire – the official destination management organisation for Yorkshire – to grow the visitor economy of England’s largest county by helping clubs sell tee-times online through a co-branded microsite developed by Teeofftimes.co.uk.
In addition to offering customers a new online route to booking, the agreement also complements the existing Club Membership programme that provides participating clubs with additional support through specific marketing programmes.
Teeofftimes.co.uk has already confirmed its commitment to the region with Sheffield-based Regional Account Manager, Duncan Rougvie, continuing to engage with and support clubs on a county-wide basis.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “With hundreds of stunning locations, historic courses and a world class welcome, Yorkshireis one of the game’s must-play destinations. Our partnership with Teeofftimes.co.uk will help make it easier for golfers everywhere to book ahead and play some of the best golf in the UK, which is great news for them and great news for Yorkshire golf.”
With around 200 clubs, golf is a very valuable element of the overallYorkshireoffering, with the associated accommodation requirements and additional up-spend contributing to a tourism industry that is worth £7 billion annually and employs 250,000 people.
“We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Welcome to Yorkshireon this exciting new initiative,” said Richard Barker PGA, Head of Product & Business Development for Teeofftimes.co.uk. “We are on track to send 25,000 golfers to the county this year so it’s a key destination for us – this new partnership can only help to increase visitor numbers to what is a great place to enjoy golf.”
With the endorsement of the Welcome to Yorkshire partnership, clubs can be confident in signing up with Teeofftimes.co.uk, having the reassurance that they retain full control over the pricing and timing of tee-times being made available through the Welcome toYorkshire website which last year generated six million hits.
