With international direct flights to Danang from Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Seoul, Siem Reap and major cities in China, the CentralCoast experienced foreign tourism growth of 11.4 percent in the first half of 2013. Almost one million foreign nationals are now expected to visit the city, Vietnam’s fourth largest, in the full year.
Another contributor to the CentralCoast’s tourism growth is the cruise industry, which grew by 67pc in first half 2013 to 60,000 passengers on 53 ships.
The CentralCoast’s courses are regarded as the three best in Vietnam. Montgomerie Links, designed by the eight-times European order of Merit winner, Colin Montgomerie, opened in 2009 and was judged best course in Vietnam in 2011. Its neighbour, Danang Golf Club, designed by Greg Norman, opened in 2012 and became best course in Vietnam in 2012. Laguna Lang Co Golf Club, opened in March, is favourite to be named as Asia’s best new course of 2013.
