The world-class Thracian Cliffs Resort in Bulgaria has been bestowed membership of the prestigious ‘Leading Golf Courses Europe’ collection following a recent inspection visit by its senior team.
The luxury Black Sea venue has gained many admirers since opening in 2011, with images of its sensational cliff-top Gary Player golf course being transmitted around the world. It also successfully hosted the 2013 Volvo World Match Play Championship and scooped the ‘European Golf Resort of the Year 2014′ award, bestowed by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).
Following a personal visit headed by Wolfgang Kunneth, president of the Leading Golf Courses Europe, Thracian Cliffs was installed as the latest member, joining other elite courses in Europe including Costa Navarino, Son Gual, Monte Rei and Open Championship venue Turnberry.
Receiving the membership award, Thracian Cliffs’ general manager, Claudio Marini, said: “We are delighted that Mr. Kunneth and his team have chosen to inaugurate our fantastic golf course into its prestigious collection of venues.
“It will help us in showcasing our wonderful product across Europe and we look forward to welcoming members of these iconic venues to experience Thracian Cliffs Resort.”
Offering a choice of two high-spec residential villages, gourmet restaurants, a bijou spa and its own beach club, Thracian Cliffs offers plenty for both golfers and lifestyle seekers – all within the unique environment of the Cape Kaliakra coast, which boasts an average of 10 hours’ daily sunshine between the months of April and October.
