Sustainability has been central throughout the development of Somabay Golf, which was consciously built to blend into the natural surroundings of the Red Sea. Over the past five years, Somabay has increasingly incorporated indigenous, water-saving plants within the facilities, and the Gary Player golf course was recently relayed using Paspalum Platinum – which is tolerant to both salt and high temperatures – allowing for the reduction of water usage on the golf course.
