“Restyling” Enhances Visitor Experience at 5* Hotel Quinta Da Marinha Resort

Hotel Quinta da Marinha Resort websiteThe five-star Hotel Quinta da Marinha Resort, in Portugal, will re-open this month following an extensive “restyling” which has seen improvements in a number of key areas.

Situated close to the beach in Cascais, near Lisbon, Hotel Quinta da Marinha Resort has 198 air-conditioned rooms, each with a spacious balcony and panoramic views of either the Robert Trent Jones-designed golf course or the Sintra mountains.

João Pinto Coelho, commercial director for the hotel’s owner Onyria Golf Resorts, said: “Our main focus was to enhance customer comfort throughout, whether it was just a simple case of redecoration, modification or complete overhaul. We wanted to become more contemporary and decided to increase the amount of open space so our guests could feel even more at home.

“As the reception area is the first point of contact a visitor has with us, we started there, balancing our desire for more personalisation with the requirements of hospitality. We’ve ensured it’s now a brighter environment, adding a fashionable grey that combines perfectly with the lighting and the new soft tones. And we’ve carried on that desire to enrich the visitor experience throughout the project.”

The lobby area also benefits from the addition of six paintings by the late Portuguese artist Ana Safer, in which she tells a story of Portuguese wines. Elsewhere, in touches that visitors will notice personally, beds have been replaced and the bed linen is now of the highest-quality Portuguese cotton. And changes have also been made to the resort’s restaurants: Rocca and Five Pines.

The new décor in the Rocca Restaurant – described as “somewhere between the light blue houses of the Alentejo and calming blue” – replaces traditional Portuguese design. But traditional Portuguese is prominent on the new menu, where chef Fernando Monteiro embraces the Mediterranean cuisine with strong flavours from both the north and south of the country.

The Five Pines Restaurant has adopted ‘trendy chic’ as its design choice, blending, as it does, contemporary design with antiques in a revamped environment where the dynamics of the space allows seating for anything from 40 to 300 people.

Pinto Coelho added: “The new colours brought to Five Pines have been carefully chosen to bring out the woody textures and anthracite grey and sliver grey around the dining room, while the new lighting brings a warm and comfortable atmosphere for group dinners or buffet-style meals.”

Hotel Quinta da Marinha Resort, part of the ‘Great Hotels of the World’ portfolio, is an ideal venue to close a business deal, play golf or simply relax in luxury and comfort in the heart of nature. Its facilities include swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants, 11 meeting rooms, a health club, complimentary beach shuttle service and one of the most beautiful and prestigious golf courses in the region.
