Quinta do Lago’s reputation for delivering a five-star golf experience has been further enhanced after the leading Algarve venue was named as the best golf resort in Portugal with 36-plus holes by users of the respected website Leadingcourses.com.

The luxury golf and lifestyle resort beat competition from some of the biggest names in Portuguese golf to take the coveted number one position in the new poll.

Voted for by golfers across Europe, Quinta do Lago scored highly for its array of amenities both on and off the fairways, with website users praising its combination of world-class golf and lifestyle facilities.

Announcing the poll results, Leadingcourses.com said: “The new ranking is something to be proud of as golfers really seem to value their experience at Quinta do Lago. We wish the resort continued success.”

The award is the latest accolade to be bestowed on Quinta do Lago following another memorable year, with others  including all three of its 18-hole championship golf courses – the North, South and Laranjal – featuring in Golf World magazine’s ‘Top 100 Golf Courses in Continental Europe 2019’ rankings for the first time in its history.

Sean Moriarty, chief executive at Quinta do Lago, said: “It’s always an honour to receive any award, and for the resort to have been voted number one in Portugal by the people that count most, individual golfers, makes this news particularly gratifying. At Quinta do Lago, we are striving all the time to provide the best possible experience to our residents and guests – on and off the golf course – and we’re determined to continue working hard and investing to maintain the resort’s status among Europe’s elite golfing destinations.”

As well as three 18-hole championship golf courses and outstanding practice facilities, guests at Quinta do Lago can enjoy all kinds of sports at The Campus, a world-class sports hub designed for professionals and amateurs.

Complementing the golf is a choice of 13  bars and restaurants, with accommodation on offer at the resort’s recently-acquired boutique hotel, The Magnolia.
