PGAsE Prestige Collection Launched in Dubai

7.45am 2nd February 2007 - Travel

The Professional Golfers Associations of Europe joined in the launching of an exciting international initiative at GolfEx Dubai, with the unveiling of the exclusive PGAsE Prestige Collection and a new Corporate Partnership arrangement.

A limited number of distinguished courses and resorts around the world, each offering the very highest standards of service and the very best facilities, are to be invited to join the Prestige Collection.

The new programme was launched to a select audience from various areas of the golf community, which included the PGAsE president Ken Schofield, former chief executive of the European Tour.

Having a limited number of exclusive establishments bearing the PGAsE Prestige Collection ‘Stamp of Excellence’ ensures that visitors to these courses and resorts are guaranteed the highest standard of accommodation, service and golfing experience.

“We have already been contacted by a number of resorts keen to be assessed to see if they are suitable,” said the Prestige Collection’s business development director, Phil Richins. “However, to maintain such a high level of delivery it is essential that we retain a degree of exclusivity, so only a few select resorts will be allowed to carry the legend of the ‘PGAsE Prestige Collection.’”

Some of the first resorts to be honoured with invitations to join the Collection are located within the UK, but choices will soon expand to continental Europe, the Middle East and beyond – while always maintaining the essential mark of guaranteed quality.

Phil Richins added, “This scheme represents a huge opportunity for resorts to tap into a potentially lucrative demographic of high-end golfers. However, there are a limited number of places available to each country, so once the selection process is over, the successful resorts will be notified and will then be able to benefit from the commercial advantages that this scheme will engender.”

Ian Randell, chief executive of the PGAsE, welcomed the addition of the Prestige Collection to the PGAs of Europe’s list of Corporate Partners. “The Prestige Collection will provide a unique profile to those golf resorts and courses wishing to achieve the ultimate recognition of quality and excellence and will be an invaluable source of information for those seeking the best golfing experiences.”
