Murrayshall expands accommodation options with luxury pod collection

First phase signals new era for Scottish countryside hospitality & stay and play offering

Murrayshall in Scotland has unveiled a collection of luxury accommodation pods as part of the first phase of its ambitious £30 million transformation project.

The launch follows five years of planning and significant investment, marking a defining moment in the estate’s long-term vision to redefine countryside hospitality and the stay and play experience in Scotland.

The introduction of the pod accommodation further enhances the best-in-class experience available to groups of golfers, couples and families staying at Murrayshall with a range of sizes to suit different needs. The two-bed pod provides ample space for four golfers and comes with a relaxing hot tub to wind down after golf, while the top-quality dining options and outdoor pursuits ensures there is something for everyone to experience and enjoy during their stay.

Set within 365 acres of rolling Perthshire landscape, the bespoke pods introduce a new level of contemporary comfort to golfers staying at Murrayshall. Designed to blend seamlessly with their natural surroundings, each pod offers guests an immersive stay that combines modern amenities with the tranquillity of the Scottish outdoors – an offering rarely found in traditional hotel settings.

The design-led spaces complement Murrayshall’s existing 40 rooms and suites, delivering seclusion, sophistication, and a deeper connection to the countryside that has shaped the estate’s character for more than four centuries.

Each pod is positioned to maximise privacy while showcasing panoramic views of the estate. Features include underfloor heating, air conditioning, smart televisions, and private outdoor areas, offering golfers enjoying a stay the freedom of indoor-outdoor living in a truly unique setting.

“The pods have been five years in the making and represent a significant step forward for Murrayshall,” said Gary Silcock, General Manager at Murrayshall Country Estate. “They give golfers and leisure guests a completely new way to experience the estate, while increasing our accommodation capacity by 50%.

“That expansion not only strengthens our hospitality offering but also creates valuable employment opportunities for the local community. Guests can now choose between three distinct experiences: elegant rooms in the main house, suites in Balvaird House, and our new luxury pods.”

The pods are part of Murrayshall’s broader investment programme, which has already delivered upgrades across its hotel facilities, golf courses, and estate grounds. The estate continues to build momentum as a premier Scottish destination for both golf and leisure, recently climbing five and three places respectively in the bi-annual Top 100 GB&I Golf Resorts rankings from Golf World and National Club Golfer.

The estate has planning permission granted for a new driving range, the addition of 25 holiday lodges, plus a 27,000 sq. ft. spa and leisure complex that will take the venue’s facilities to the next level later this year.
