Murrayshall Country Estate plays pivotal role in fostering the next generation of golfers

Murrayshall, the iconic hotel, estate, and golf course in Perthshire (pictured), is bringing together golfers from across the country to experience the estate’s unique American parkland course meandering across 365 acres.

The Murrayshall championship course has played host to a variety of national events this summer season. Most recently, the estate welcomed young golfers from around the globe to the Scottish Boys’ Under 16 Open Championship – with players hailing from countries near and far including Bermuda, Malta, Ireland and Norway.

With a continued dedication to engaging young golfers, Murrayshall was honoured to host young golfers for the 2024 Faldo Futures Qualifying Events this spring. The tour created by Sir Nick Faldo is now the largest and most successful global junior golf series developing the champions of tomorrow.

To continue to foster growth of young golfers, Murrayshall offers junior memberships that provide coaching for aspiring golfers as young as four, providing all equipment free of charge and ensuring that kids have the chance to learn in a fun and friendly environment.

The Scottish Womens’ Amateur Tour also took to the course this summer – the newly established tour was created to increase playing opportunities for girls and women, providing an avenue to play at top class venues in a supportive competition. Murrayshall was one of nine venues to take part alongside other esteemed courses including Royal Dornoch and a grand final at Cabot Highlands Castle Stuart.

Murrayshall continues to invest in its courses, striving to improve conditions for players as well as enhancing the bunkering and newly shaped green to create a stand-out experience for golfers of all ages. This month sees the last piece of new machinery from golf equipment specialist Textron arrive, bringing total investment in recent years to the one-million-pound milestone.

The season still holds plenty of excitement ahead as Murrayshall prepares to host a 2024 Pro AM tournament in September as an official event of the Scottish Tartan Tour, allowing combined teams of amateurs and professionals to fuel up with a hearty breakfast before taking to the championship course.

The estate is also preparing to host the President’s Trophy Footgolf Competition this September on the beautiful 10-hole Lynedoch course, bringing an exciting variety of events to the property throughout autumn.

General Manager Gary Silcock said, “It’s been such a pleasure to see our scenic golf courses as the backdrop to a full schedule of incredible events this season that encourage growth for young golfers. It never gets old watching the next generation of champions developing their skills and having fun on the course as they become confident golfers.”

The Murrayshall Championship course offers an idyllic 18-holes offering golfers the perfect combination of an enthralling layout through groves of pine trees, impeccable course conditions and stunning panoramic views. Murrayshall memberships provide access to affordable options for less frequent players all the way to full packages for 7-day access, discounts on food & drink, and professional tuition.
