Portugal’s Monte da Quinta resort has moved to cement its reputation for excellence by forming a new partnership with one of golf’s rising stars in the south of England. The Algarve venue has secured an agreement with Old Thorns Manor Hotel, Golf & Country Estate that will see visitors and members at the two resorts benefit in the coming months.
As part of the new deal, all guests staying at Monte da Quinta will receive a range of special rates and discounts at Old Thorns, including a 10 per cent saving on two-night stays featuring dinner, bed and breakfast for £224 per person, with the Hampshire venue also agreeing to display promotional material.
In return, members at Old Thorns will be entitled to enjoy a similar discount on all breaks to Monte da Quinta until 11 November, including a variety of three and seven-night packages.
Players at the club have already felt the benefits of the new arrangement, with Monte da Quinta offering holiday packages as prizes during its recent club championship and senior open and Old Thorns taking part in the Race to Portugal for the first time this year, with the 2012 final to be held at the resort in November.
Cristina Picarra, Monte da Quinta’s sales and marketing director, said: “This is a great partnership for us. The UK is a very important market for us and we are very keen to build relationships with other quality clubs in the future.”
“We are delighted to have partnered with Monte da Quinta. We feel that our new agreement will be mutually beneficial to both resorts in the months and years to come,” added Henry Alliss, golf operations manager at Old Thorns Manor Hotel, Golf & Country Estate.
Situated in the heart of the Quinta do Lago estate, Monte da Quinta boasts a collection of 132 self-catering suites and a range of two and three-bedroom townhouses and spacious villas. All townhouses and villas come with private pools.
The resort is an ideal base for anyone visiting the Algarve, located close to the famous golden beaches and surrounded by leisure options including championship golf, tennis and water sports. On-site there are a number of dining options, an extensive Kids’ Club and the Magnolia Spa.
Old Thorns Manor Hotel, Golf & Country Estate, which is located on the Hampshire-Surrey border, has undergone a £25 million-plus investment on and off the course since 2008 and, in addition to its 18-hole championship golf lay-out, offers luxury four-star accommodation and a wide selection of leisure activities, spa and new state-of-the-art gym.
