Tickets for The 2010 Ryder Cup match days are now completely sold out – but golf fans still have one final chance to enjoy the competitive action by buying an Official Ryder Cup Hospitality package.

With the 100-days-to-go mark set to be celebrated next week, The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales is already guaranteed to see record 45,000-a-day crowds for the three days of competition between Europe and the United States (October 1–3).

The ticket ballots for those days were heavily over-subscribed and all the allocations have now been made and are being processed.

However, a limited number of Official Ryder Cup Hospitality packages for the match days are still available – but only until July 1 when sales close.

“It’s no surprise there’s been such heavy demand for match day tickets,” said Richard Hills, the European Ryder Cup Director. “The Ryder Cup is one of the most keenly anticipated events in world sport and the atmosphere is certain to be electric as the world’s top players go head to head in a match play format.

“I would strongly urge people who are keen to be part of this unique occasion to move quickly to secure their place. The hospitality Pavilions on the 16th and 17th fairways will be second to none, providing a luxurious way to entertain clients and guests while enjoying panoramic views across The Twenty Ten Course.

“Our aim is to provide a product that exceeds the expectations of our guests, raising the bar on the standard of food and service to a level that will not be experienced at any other sporting or cultural event. The topography of The Twenty Ten Course means hospitality at The 2010 Ryder Cup will quite simply be second to none.”

The two remaining options available are The President’s Club, which is designed for smaller groups with prices from £650 plus VAT per person, and The Conwy Club, where a four-day, 10 guests-per-day package costs £38,000 plus VAT.

With such high demand for tickets, Ryder Cup Europe has reiterated a previous warning to golf fans to be vigilant about unscrupulous agents offering forged or invalid entrance tickets.

“Ryder Cup Europe is again urging anyone wishing to secure admission to do so only via the official websites – www.rydercup.com and www.rydercuphospitality.com – or one of the Official Agents,” said Richard Hills.

“The popularity of the event is such that some  people are trying to cheat people into buying fake tickets. But we are doing everything we can to publicise the official channels and ensure no one parts with hard-earned money only to find they can’t get into the event.”

In addition to the two official websites, tickets can be purchased through Ryder Cup Europe’s official ticket agent – www.seetickets.com – or one of the recognised hospitality companies: Keith Prowse (Arun.Oram@keithprowse.co.uk ), IMG Hospitality (Christopher.Thompson@imgworld.com ), the Mike Burton Group (ian.dunn@mikeburton.com ), CSL Hospitality (Ireland) (shane.clyne@cslassociates.ie ) and Ryder Cup Travel Services (john.parker@byrom.plc.uk ).

There are still a limited number of places available on the three Practice Days (September 28-30), with tickets costing £30 (special rate of £15 for Under 16s) on the first two days and £40 (£20) for the day of the Opening Ceremony (September 30).
