Golf Courses of Madrid In Joint Tourism Drive

The Madrid Association of Golf Courses has signed an agreement with the Community of Madrid by which they will promote the attractions of Madrid together with the first class infrastructures of the golf courses of the Association of Golf Courses of Madrid.

Marta Rivera de la Cruz, Regional Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sports was responsible for signing this agreement with Iñigo Garamendi, from the Golf Courses Association, whereby €475,000 will be allocated to golf tourism at a national and international level until 2023.

This agreement will promote the Golf Greater Madrid brand, which will be represented at various tourism fairs throughout Europe with the aim of attracting the tourism and business travel sectors with which Madrid will be consolidated as a tourist destination thanks to the 19 golf courses that are part of the Association.

The actions to be carried out will include presence at international fairs, actions on social networks, fam trips with tour operators and specialist press, presence at MICE events and an amateur Circuit to promote the World Heritage destinations of Madrid.

The Community of Madrid, aware of the important economic contribution that golf tourism attracts, will promote different actions for the dissemination and promotion of Madrid as a golf destination through various actions, which will culminate with the celebration of the IAGTO Trophy, an amateur circuit of six events that will be played in the most emblematic courses of the Community.
