Bigger and better, but the same price! That’s the message from the First in Fife Golfpass group for 2007, and visitors to the UK Golf Show at the NEC in Birmingham showed huge interest in this great-value passport to the Home of Golf.
For 2007, four new courses have joined the Golfpass group – Charleton, Pitreavie, and the Montgomery and Bruce courses in Kinross. Aberdour, Balbirnie Park, Burntisland, Canmore, Dunfermline, Forrester Park, Kirkcaldy, and Thornton golf clubs have all been welcoming Golfpass visitors since 2004 and are delighted to see the group grow in size.
Ewen Watt, Captain of Burntisland Golf House Club and Chairman of the Golfpass group, thinks 2007 will be an excellent year for sales. “As well as four new courses, we have six new accommodation partners, all keen to package our First in Fife Golfpass into golf breaks in the Kingdom of Fife. We have held the price of the Golfpass at only £55 for the 3 round pass and £85 for the 5 round pass – which proves that playing golf in the Home of Golf can be inexpensive as well as high quality.
Research shows high levels of customer satisfaction and appreciation of the value for money we offer. We aim to build on that base of satisfied customers and we’re also following up the people we met at the Golf Show. This is all part of a comprehensive marketing plan that will include mailshots, selected advertising, an electronic newsletter to golfers in Sweden, more targeting of our core market in the north of England, and greater use of our much-enhanced website – www.firstinfifegolf.com.”
Mr Watt also acknowledged the great support the Golfpass group received from the Fife Tourism Development Fund, VisitScotland Fife, and Scottish Enterprise Fife, with research showing that that support in turn helped generate a lot of new visitor spend in the Fife economy.
The Chairman concluded, “With The Open returning to Carnoustie next year, our Golfpass group expanding, prices being held, and our marketing under way much sooner than in previous years, we are confident of record sales in 2007”.
