Golf holiday expert, David Short Golf – www.davidshortgolf.co.uk – has extended its range of overseas winter Escorted Tours to include brand new packages to Sweden and Dubai.
The UK-based company has been running golf breaks in the off season to South Africa and Asia for many years and such is the demand for these holidays that two new destinations have been added over the coming autumn.
The company’s first-ever golf week to Sweden at the end of September will take in five of the best courses in the Malmo region, such as the Barseback Golf & Country Club that hosted the 2003 Solheim Cup and the glorious links at Falsterbo Golf Club, as well as a visit to Malmo, a city that boasts a host of cultural sites of interest including the Moderna Museet Malmo and plenty of excellent bistros and cafés.
The Swedish tour will be hosted by David Short himself whilst in late October, fellow PGA Pro Barney Puttick will accompany a group to sun-soaked Dubai, one of the most opulent golfing environments in the world. Again five courses will be played including the well-known Emirates Golf Club, the Els Club and the Address Montgomerie Dubai. This week will also feature a free day for shopping and sightseeing that will culminate in an exhilarating Dune Safari followed by dinner in the desert.
The two new tours are priced from £1,460 per person for Sweden and £1,696 per person for Dubai and include five rounds of golf, accommodation on a B&B basis, daily transfers, a sightseeing tour and the personal service of the tour host.
“Thanks to the huge popularity of our forays abroad to South Africa and Asia, it was apparent that we should add to our overseas holidays offering and introduce two exciting new destinations,” says David Short.
“In addition to choosing interesting locations and lining up some of the finest golf courses in each country, we have sourced excellent hotels and restaurants to ensure that everyone has a great time both on and off the course. As well as enjoying the golf, we like to make sure that our guests have an opportunity to explore the cultural side of the cities we are based in and to taste the best local cuisine over sociable suppers in the evening.”
David, who has been running his eponymous golf holiday company for over 30 years, has created one of the most established golf travel operators in the UK.
Many of David’s clients return again and again; often golfers, both couples and singles, will join a ‘Golf Coaching Weekend’ and then book a ‘Golf Week’ in England or abroad where long-term friendships are regularly forged. There’s even a Reunion Weekend at Staverton Park every two years where clients can meet old friends and relive great memories.
In November, David Short Golf will again be running its three-week long tour of Thailand, which this year includes a week in Malaysia, and in February next year returns to South Africa which offers a tantalising combination of stunning golf, gourmet cuisine and fine wine and some of the best safari experiences that Africa has to offer.
