A total of 17 new luxury golf resorts have been included in the 2002 edition of the Relais du Golf Directory, launched with the support of Jaime Ortiz-Patino, president of the PGA of Europe, and former Ryder Cup captain Mark James at the recent World Travel Market in London.

The Directory features a superb collection of the very best golf hotels and resorts around the world. This year’s edition contains over 100 pages with new resorts including Domaine du Roncemay and Les Bordes in France, Fiesta America Los Cabos in Mexico, the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida, Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Philadelphia, the Manela Bay Hotel in Lanai City, Hawaii, the St Andrews Bay Golf Resort and Spa, the Old Thorns Hotel Golf & Country Club in Hampshire and Trevose Golf and Country Club in Cornwall. More than 20 countries are represented.

“We believe this is a unique publication of immense interest to golfers seeking to visit quality golfing destinations all over the world,” said Kirsten Branum-Burns, managing director of Relais du Golf. “We are delighted to feature such a fine collection of golf resorts and were overwhelmed by how well the Directory was received at the World Travel Market, both by current and prospective member resorts.”

“I long ago realised the appeal of creating a golf course in superb surroundings with excellent facilities and hospitality,” said Jaime Ortiz-Patino, “and it was also recognised by Relais du Golf, now the world’s leading golf tourism organisation and a corporate sponsor of the PGA of Europe. Together Relais du Golf and the PGA of Europe grant official recognition to worldwide, high profile golf hotels and resorts who have satisfied high standards for their guests. It is these approved establishments that are featured in this the seventh edition of the publication ‘Partners in Excellence’ and I know readers will enjoy browsing through it.”
