The Telegraph has joined the sponsors for England Golf’s 2019 Awards.

The multimedia news brand will add its name to the much-prized Lifetime Service Award, which celebrates someone who has made a remarkable contribution to golf over many years. The winner will be announced at the England Golf Awards 2019, sponsored by adidas Golf, at the Royal Lancaster London on March 21.

Nick Pink, England Golf Chief Executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted that The Telegraph is joining us to celebrate all that’s great about golf in England and, in particular, to recognise someone who has made a real difference to the game, over many years. The Telegraph’s involvement will help us to raise the profile of the awards and the fantastic work being done by our members, volunteers, clubs, counties and coaches.”

Adam Sills, Head of Sport at The Telegraph said: “I’m delighted we are sponsoring this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award and supporting these awards, which really highlight the contributions made by many to the success of the game in England.”

Last year’s winner of the Lifetime Service Award was Leicestershire coach Anders Mankert, who has changed lives through golf. He was celebrated for the difference he has made to blind and visually impaired golfers and to young players making their way in the game.

The other award categories are:
Innovation Award, sponsored by Players 1st
Most Welcoming Club of the Year, sponsored by Howdidido
Coach of the year, sponsored by The PGA
Young Ambassador of the Year, in association with the Golf Foundation
Volunteer of the year
