Royal & Awesome Spring 2014Scotland’s spectacular golf clothing brand, Royal & Awesome, is helping to put some sparkle into the charity Sparks’ new golf challenge.

Sparks is a children’s medical research charity that raises funds to help the 1 in 30 babies born in the UK with a condition that could affect them for life.

The ‘Sparks Golf Challenge’, organised by the charity and sponsored by Royal & Awesome, will challenge golf enthusiasts to complete as many holes of golf as they can in a day, while raising funds for this vital research.

This awesome golf challenge requires participants to organise a team of two to four players to play a minimum of 72 holes on a given day this summer – with Royal & Awesome rewarding teams who raise a minimum £400 for the charity with a free pair of trousers for each team member.

Players should play a minimum of four rounds on one or more courses, and, whether the golfers score well or play quickly, there will be a challenge for everyone.

Furthermore, three teams will be invited to play in the popular Sparks Open at The Oxfordshire on October 8 –the teams which played the most holes in a day, raised the most money, and recorded the best Stableford score over 72 holes – providing they complete the challenge by September 1, 2014, and register on the charity’s website.

Since 1991, Sparks has raised more than£26mthrough fundraising initiatives to fund vital research and this new partnership will see Royal & Awesome support the charity’s golf and events throughout 2014, aiming to raise valuable funds for life-saving medical research.

David Barker, Head of Golf Events at Sparks, said: “We are delighted to be launching our new challenge in partnership with Royal & Awesome and their spectacular range of clothing. Fundraisers are sure to get noticed for their gallant efforts on the golf course and for their free awesome outfits!”

Royal & Awesome brand director Graeme Smeaton added: “Royal & Awesome is always keen to support golfers who are raising money for charity – and this is the perfect opportunity to reward those who are going to be taking part in this gruelling challenge. We’ve been asked to help raise funds in the past, by people who say our eye-catching clothing helps them to get more money. A partnership with Sparks is a great way to add scale to this.”

Royal &Awesome’s range of eye-catching golf trousers, shorts and hats is ‘perfect for the pars and the bars’. The brand also boasts a collection of plus-twos as well as women’s trousers, shorts and skorts in dazzling designs, complemented by a selection of shirts, socks and belts.

The ‘Awesomes’ – the brand’s range of brightly designed golf trousers – build on the wonderful heritage and history of golf in Scotland by adding a whole lot of fun and colour, and are guaranteed to make an impact on the course, the clubhouse or the corporate jolly. All of the ‘bottoms’ come with a free golf tool/bottle opener, which is a nod to the strap line of ‘for the pars and the bars’.
