Your Golf Travel.com is taking a leading role in a new venture designed to help Britain’s injured servicemen and women back on to the fairways.

A new scheme, Golf 4 Heroes, has been formed in association with Battleback, a tri-service initiative based at Headley Court, which uses sport to aid the rehabilitation of wounded personnel.

The new campaign, which includes Prime Minister David Cameron and world number two golfer Lee Westwood among its backers, has set a target of getting 1,000 golf courses, both in the UK and overseas, to each pledge two complimentary green fees per week for members of the Golf 4 Heroes scheme to use as a way of thanking Britain’s bravest golfers for the sacrifices they have made on the country’s behalf.

Your Golf Travel.com has also facilitated UK breaks and overseas trips to the La Manga Club and Villataina resorts in Spain, and is providing further support to the Golf 4 Heroes campaign via an online auction with 11 great golf trips available including a trip to the 2012 US Masters.

Ross Marshall, chief executive of Your Golf Travel.com, commented: “We are delighted to be part of this incredible scheme which is going to provide invaluable support and inspiration in the rehabilitation of our brave servicemen.

“We sincerely hope that the golf industry will get behind our initiative in a big way and support our heroes by welcoming them on to their fairways free of charge.”
