Wilson Golf has announced the signing of England’s Andrew Wilson and German golfer Hurly Long to its DP World Tour roster on a multi-year deal.

The pair enjoyed a successful season on the Challenge Tour last year culminating in earning their full Tour cards and both players will tee it up as a Wilson player at the Ras al Khaimah Championship presented by Phoenix Capital at the Al Hamra GC, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Andrew Wilson turned professional in 2018 and qualified for his first Major through regional qualifying for The 148th Open at Royal Portrush finishing in a tie 32nd. He earned promotion to the DP World Tour for 2022 through the Challenge Tour’s Road to Mallorca Rankings following two top-3 finishes at the Italian Challenge and the Empordà Challenge, plus four top-10’s.

The 27-year-old – who is attached to Rockcliffe Hall in County Durham – will play the Staff Model Utility iron; Staff Model CB irons; the Staff Model Forged Raw Wedges; Staff Model Tour ball in the red Tour bag, plus a Wilson branded cap.

“I’m really excited to get my first DP World Tour season underway and I can’t thank Wilson enough for the backing and help they’ve provided,” said Andrew. “Last year was some of the best golf I’ve ever played and I feel so comfortable with the Staff Model CB irons and the ball is just incredible. It’s long off the tee and provides great feel with the irons off the fairway and around the green,” he added.

Germany’s Hurly Long will be using Wilson irons and utilities as part of his staff contract

Long, who represented Germany at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, gained his Tour card with a consistent season last year with six top-10 finishes including a second place at the Challenge de Cádiz. He has one career win to his name at the 2020 Italian Challenge Open.

His solid performances meant only missing four cuts in 22 Challenge Tour appearances and finishing in 17th place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings. He attended Texas Tech University and won the 2017 Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach and has represented Germany in three Eisenhower Trophy tournaments in 2014, 2016 and 2018.

The 26-year-old will play the Staff Model Utility iron; a Staff Model CB 5 iron with Staff Model Blades 6-9 ironall carried in a Wilson red Tour bag, plus a branded cap.

“We have a fantastic blend of youth and experience on the Tour roster this season some coming off the back of strong performances on the DP World Tour last year and we look forward to more of those and hopefully a return to the winner’s circle,” said Doug Wright, Global Commercial Director of Wilson Golf.

“I’m excited by the new signings. We have a great team on the ground that supports a lot of players on the upcoming Tours. We’ve seen this with Andrew coming through to the DP World Tour this year and I’m delighted with the success he has had playing the Staff Model ball which we launched new last year” he added.
